CEQA Reform Gets State Senate’s OK

A measure to streamline the California Environmental Quality Act has won unanimous state Senate approval.
If enacted, the bill would permit new projects to move forward if they abide by local specific plans that have already undergone environmental review. It would also speed up legal challenges. California Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) said the measure is an “initial compromise” ahead of continued debate.
