Friant Begins Discussions On Trans Valley Canal Need

A crucial element that would be needed to fully integrate the Temperance Flat project with other parts of the valley and state water system is under preliminary discussion by Friant Division district managers and the Friant Water Authority.
A Trans Valley Canal or some other form of inter-regional conveyance was not included in the water bond that will be decided November 4 but the Legislature agreed to support two years of funding for such a facility.
Concepts are being discussed on how the canal could aid recirculation of Restoration flows, movement of wet year water and supplies for groundwater recharge programs as well as integration of Temperance Flat with Delta export facilities.
