‘There It Is; Take It’
William Mulholland (left), legendary Los Angeles water engineer, delivers five of the most immortal water words – “There it is; take it” – in California history on November 5, 1913, as the first flow from distant Owens Valley splashes down the San Fernando Valley cascades of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power marked the milestone’s centennial with November 5 ceremonies.
